Lackawaxen Good Cheer
Food Pantry is sponsored by St. Luke Lutheran Church, Greeley and is
housed in the St. Luke Center, Route 590, Greeley. Clients are
offered non-perishable food from the pantry and are also given
vouchers for the purchase of perishable foods at the Shurway Market
in Greeley. The pantry also offers food baskets at Easter,
Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The pantry is staffed completely by
volunteers. The volunteers apply for grants from the United Way of
Pike County and The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board
Program, Pike County. Members of the congregations, as well as other
congregations, organizations, businesses, and private members of the
community, donate food and funds to the pantry. The pantry serves 15
to 30 families a month. Approximately 25-30 food baskets are
prepared for holidays. All clients are welcome.
