Lackawaxen Community Building is proposed to provide a central location as our township administrative hub, a center where our vehicles that keep our roads safe and clean are serviced and protected from the elements, where our community meeting hall where our laws are made, where our citizens can share ideas, voice opinions, and discuss our future. MINUTES

Regular Monthly Meeting Lackawaxen Township Board of Supervisors, Wednesday July 16, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Supervisor Gelderman, Supervisor Krochta, Solicitor Waldron and Municipal Clerk Roe were present.

 

A motion was made by Gelderman to accept the agenda as presented. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

A motion was made by Gelderman to approve the minutes of last months meeting. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

A motion was made by Gelderman to approve the bills in the amount of $165,516.07 in the general fund and $103,440.11 in the Liquid Fuels.  Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

                              OLD BUSINESS

 

Craig Bower- A motion was made by Gelderman to approve the Conditional Use for the 2 Family Home. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

Fran James- A motion was made by Krochta to approve the Conditional Use for the Home Occupation. Second by Gelderman. Motion accepted.

 

Blue Heron Woods- Regarding Major Subdivision- For Informational Purposes Only-Preliminary approval has been approved. Need to submit final approval plans to Planning Commission and Pike County Planning. Same process as preliminary approval.

 

                            NEW BUSINESS

 

Dawn Bates- A motion was made by Gelderman to Schedule a Conditional Use Hearing for Dawn Bates for August 13th at 5:30 pm. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

Mary Allen- A motion was made by Gelderman to Schedule a Conditional Use Hearing for Mary Allen for August 13th at 5:45 pm. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

Township Building- A motion was made by Gelderman to Schedule a Conditional Use Hearing for the New Township Building/Garage for August 13th at 6:00 pm. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted. A motion was made by Krochta to appoint Rich Henry as our Master for the Conditional Use Hearing for the Township Building. Second by Gelderman. Motion accepted.

 

Carlozzi- A motion was made by Gelderman to approve the lot consolidation for lot #206 & #207 in Masthope for Carlozzi. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

Falkovich- A motion was made by Krochta to approve the lot consolidation for lot #1 & #2 in Kuhn Development for Falkovich. Second by Gelderman. Motion accepted.

 

Unflat- A motion was made by Krochta to approve the minor subdivision for Unflat contingent on the revised language on the map. Second by Gelderman. Motion accepted.

 

Resolution #03-2008- A motion was made by Gelderman to approve Resolution #03-2008 regarding the promulgation for Emergency Management Plan. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

Resolution #04-2008- A motion was made by Krochta to approve Resolution #04-2008 regarding the Fee Schedule Change. Second by Gelderman. Motion accepted.

 

Resolution #05-2008- A motion was made by Gelderman to approve Resolution #05-2008 regarding PP&L Power Line. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

Mileage Rate Change- A motion was made by Gelderman to increase the mileage rate from 50 cents to 58.5 cents per the IRS rate increase. Second by Krochta. Motion accepted.

 

 

 

 

SOLICITOR'S REPORT

 

Road Ordinance-Will be presented at next months meeting regarding no parking on township roads Fire Hydrants- Agreement with Woodloch will be tabled until next month's meeting

Executive Session- Tony announced that there would be an executive session to be scheduled the week of July 28th or the week of August 4th with the supervisors to discuss personnel issues and pending legal action regarding the conditional use hearing for the new township building

River Jam Music Fest - Scheduled for September 6,h- Rain Date September 7lh at the Lackawaxen Fire Dept. Field from 12:00 pm to approx 6:00 pm

Pike County Planning - Regarding Gypsy Moth Spraying-Applications Need to be submitted by August 1, 2008
